She indeed can be called a “Woman of Substance”. Having completed her MBBS medical studies, she was working in the Surgery Department of a Government Hospital in Delhi when she sat for , and got into the Indian Revenue Service in 2013, and joined the bureaucracy.
However, she surprisingly chose to keep her hard-earned links to Medical, still alive. Hence, in spite of her demanding job as Deputy Commissioner, she decided to do her bit for the under-privileged on weekends. She attends to the medical needs and free consultations at charitable institutions in and around her HQ. It is her way of giving back to society! This for her sure is a tight-rope walk, in keeping work-life balance, with an IPS Officer husband and a 4 year old son. Besides, she is also an avid reader and a national level swimmer.
She has recently been Awarded the prestigious “ Made in India “ award , by the renowned Bharat Nirman Foundation , for her endeavours in serving the society. During her tenure at kolkata air cargo, she has streamlined the Cargo import Export System at Kolkata Airport by bringing in structural changes & improvements in procedures, operations to bring in more efficiency as well as transparency in working , in this sensitive area. She is currently posted as deputy commissioner GST Durgapur.
